I’ve decided on a whim that every Wednesday I will take a sentence or paragraph from something that I’ve written in the last week and post it entirely without context.
This week:
Women of all races smiled silently down at them from screens set into the white walls of the elevator, arranged artfully on loungers beside swimming pools, winking from the pilot’s seat of a cloud speeder, even draped over the sterile surfaces of industrial machinery. Buy this and I could be yours, they seemed to say. Sex had sold before the Great Invasion, but the women in the ads seemed even more exotic now that there were so few of them left.
